A major career milestone was announced by Alicia Keys in a teaser video that she shared on her X and Instagram pages on Saturday, June 15. More than one billion streams have been made of the R&B singer’s 2009 joint single “Empire State of Mind,” featuring Jay-Z.
Watch the black-and-white video below to see Keys walk up to Hov and stand next to him with her arm around his shoulder. Jay, meanwhile, looks directly into the camera while maintaining a calm expression.
“One Dream. One song. 1 Billion streams [three emojis of praying hands],” Keys captioned a photo on X, the previous Twitter platform. “I’m grateful. We cherish you. What comes next?[Shushing face emojis and eyes].”
The Tony Awards Surprise Performance
Alicia Keys and JAY-Z gave fans a hint just one day after the teaser video. It has to do with how they performed. The Tony Awards in 2024 was the venue. They gave a performance. An unexpected performance of “Empire State of Mind.” This was done with the Hell’s Kitchen ensemble. The audience gave the performance a standing ovation.
